End this year on a high, and get ready for the next!
A brand-new year is on the horizon, and with the pandemic pretty much in the past, it’s time to focus on the future, grab the bull firmly by the horns, and achieve that business growth you’ve been working towards!
So, with all that in mind, have you ever been networking before…?
If you have never been, you may have heard it’s full of awkward encounters and disingenuous sales pitches from strangers, but you couldn’t be further from the truth.
How would you feel if you heard that by getting stuck in, you could make money networking and grow your business?
That’s exactly what our founder here at the DARWIN.vip Academy, Michael Thomas, has been doing for over a decade.
Once you see networking as a potential business opportunity, you’ll get a whole lot more out of it – trust us! Here are the basics...
Network online and in person
Networking meetings are back face to face now post-pandemic, but they’re also still running online in some cases, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
If you want to ease yourself in, it might be best to start networking online, and work yourself up to going to an in-person meeting further down the line. It’ll also save you time and money travelling to events, as you can join in from the comfort of your sofa. But, be sure to go in person at some point, as it’s a very different experience, and you really will be able to get even more out of it.
Get out of your comfort zone – it can be a good thing!
You can meet some really interesting people networking, people who are in the same industry as you, have had a similar entrepreneurial journey to you, or simply enjoy doing the same things as you in their spare time! And the best bit? They’re generally ambitious, hardworking, and share similar goals to you.
By spending your time with likeminded people, sharing ideas and experiences with them, you’ll be more likely to keep your goals on track.
On top of that, the more people you get to know, the more those leads and referrals will come rolling in!
Build meaningful connections that will stand the test of time
Once you’ve done the hard work and built some really great relationships with people at networking groups, you’ll be onto a winner.
As long as you maintain those connections and check in regularly, continuing to invest your time in them and helping them when you can, you’ll create your own luck, as the saying goes.
If you help your connections by putting work their way when appropriate, introducing them to relevant contacts of yours, and even simply sending them articles you think they’ll be interested in, they will reciprocate and help you to grow your business, too.
Networking is a great investment
Yes, networking does cost money. And it takes up a chunk of your time. But it’s a real investment, as the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, and you can soon start to make money networking.
If you aren’t networking yet, now’s the time to start, and you can set yourself up for success in 2023.
